Zeal Appoints Andrew Horton, ex-CTO at Yoyo Wallet, as Chief Product Officer
Zeal appoints Andrew Horton, ex-Yoyo Wallet CTO, as CPO to scale product innovation across card machines, loyalty, and retail technology.
We're excited to share some big news from Zeal’s headquarters in the UK. Our team just got stronger with the appointment of Andrew Horton, member of the founding team and former CTO at Yoyo Wallet, to our C-suite. Andrew’s experience in developing scalable and innovative payment and loyalty solutions is critical for Zeal as it scales across card machines globally.
Yoyo Wallet (acquired by SaltPay — now known as Teya) is the UK's leading QR code loyalty programme for retailers. The company developed white-labelled apps for brands such as Caffè Nero, Harris + Hoole, and Planet Organic. It also launched the Yoyo App, an aggregator that enabled customers to link their payment cards to pay and collect loyalty stamps via a single QR code scan.
At Yoyo, Andrew led the engineering team and built one of the strongest infrastructures for integrating with various ePOS software providers. He also spearheaded the development of the first-of-its-kind ePOS API, which enabled payments and discounts to be processed simultaneously — a major step forward for seamless retail experiences.
Now, Andrew is taking on a pivotal role at Zeal. As Chief Product Officer, he will lead our Product team, focusing on scaling Zeal’s capabilities, and working closely with POS manufacturers, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Payment Acquirers, and Merchants.
But Andrew’s approach is not just about engineering payment flows — it's about building strategic partnerships and driving collaboration across the retail ecosystem. His vision aligns perfectly with our mission to scale Zeal’s presence in retail technology and loyalty infrastructure.
Our CEO, Omar Ebeid, couldn’t be more thrilled. He believes Andrew’s track record, product thinking, and leadership are precisely what Zeal needs as we expand deeper into the UK market. Their shared commitment to innovation in retail tech makes this a powerful partnership for the road ahead.
This appointment is more than just a new hire; it’s a statement of intent. It reflects our continued commitment to pushing boundaries in loyalty and data-driven engagement — delivering intelligent, future-ready solutions for retailers, POS partners, and ultimately, the end customer.
