For acquirers: when every rate looks the same, the terminal has to do more

Core processing is a commodity and every RFP ends on basis points. Zeal puts loyalty, customer identification and estate-wide data on the terminals you already ship, so your terminal does something a competitor's cannot, your merchants stay for the value rather than the price, and every account carries a subscription line on top of interchange. Live today with Elavon, Worldpay, NMI and Lloyds Cardnet.

Built for acquirers

Differentiate the estate you already own

Acquirers do not need another loyalty vendor. They need the terminal on the counter to be the reason a merchant signs, stays and pays for more. Zeal installs on the Android terminals you already ship, with no recertification of your payment application and no change to settlement.

01 · Differentiate

A terminal rivals cannot quote

Loyalty, customer recognition, vouchers and branded receipts run inside the payment on PAX, Ingenico, Castles and Feitian devices. Your sales team walks in with a product, not a rate card.

02 · Retain

Churn scored before the terminal comes back

Every merchant gets a daily churn-risk score from terminal and transaction signals: volume trend, acceptance health, days since last trade. Your retention team calls first, with a reason.

03 · Monetise

A VAS subscription on every MID

Merchants pay for Zeal on a revenue share or an annual licence in your brand. The economics stack on interchange instead of eating into it, and lift the value of the portfolio.

04 · See

Live data across the whole estate

One live view of transactions, terminal status and loyalty activity across every merchant and every channel partner, so the acquirer finally sees what happens on the counter.

<10%of a small merchant's software budget goes on payment acceptance; the rest goes to POS, loyalty and marketing tools you can now supply
20–30%typical annual merchant attrition across an acquirer or ISO portfolio, rising to 25–45% in hospitality
~17%average reduction in attrition when value-added software is attached to a merchant account, across ten acquirer and ISO portfolios

The World's #1 VAS Solution on Payment Terminals

Without Zeal

Your card machines can only process payments.

They are blind: unable to recognise who is paying or understand customer behaviour. They simply capture payment value, with no additional insight for your merchants.

With Zeal

Your card machines become smart: able to identify customers, offer loyalty programmes, and provide actionable insights.

They evolve into a powerful data engine and customer engagement tool for merchants, delivering advanced data visibility and loyalty with every transaction.

Reduce merchant churn

Use Zeal to support your merchants, increase their satisfaction, and make your services indispensable.

Add new revenue streams

Move beyond competing on price. Equip your merchants with Zeal’s value-added services and create new revenue opportunities for your business.

Boost annual turnover & merchant stickiness

By offering loyalty programmes on your card machines, you’ll help your merchants boost customer retention and annual turnover, increasing their stickiness to your services.

By offering loyalty programmes on your card machines, you’ll help your merchants boost customer retention and annual turnover, increasing their stickiness to your services.

Turn your card machines into powerful data sources

Traditionally, merchants needed apps or websites to track customer behaviour. Now, your card machines can do it, helping merchants identify and segment customers with ease.

Turn your card machines into loyalty engines

Previously, customers had to navigate through multiple steps to earn rewards or loyalty points. Now, there’s no need for loyalty cards, apps or QR codes; your card machines can automatically engage and reward customers.

Form strategic partnerships with card-linked loyalty

With Zeal, you can offer corporates a powerful edge. Whether it’s their employees, airline passengers, or telecom customers making purchases on your card machines, Zeal instantly identifies them and delivers tailored rewards that enrich corporate benefits and exclusive loyalty programmes.

One platform, three provider economics

Zeal is one value-added services layer that runs on the payment terminals a provider already owns. The economics differ by seat: acquirers use it to cut merchant churn and add a subscription revenue line, ISOs use it to watch and defend the residual portfolio, and payfacs use it to make sub-merchant onboarding an easier sell. The sections below show what each buyer actually sees.

For acquirers, the problem is churn and share of wallet. With 20-30% of merchants switching provider each year, growth gets eaten from the bottom of the book. Zeal gives your merchants services they cannot take to a rival, scores every merchant's churn risk so your team calls before the cancellation, and adds a subscription revenue line on terminals that today earn processing fees alone.

For ISOs, the problem is defending residuals across an estate you cannot fully see. The Zeal ISO portal shows real-time transactions across your whole estate in one view, regardless of which acquirer processes them, with churn-risk scores in the same screen. Your portfolio is your annuity; Zeal is how you watch it and how you make it harder to poach.

For payfacs, the problem is standing out at onboarding. Sub-merchants sign up where the offer is strongest, and a platform whose terminals include loyalty, customer identification and analytics onboards better than one selling payments alone. Zeal ships as part of your proposition from day one, not as an upsell later.

Whichever seat you sit in, the mechanics are the same: Zeal deploys remotely to the Android and Linux terminals already in the field, is live with Elavon, Worldpay, NMI and Lloyds Cardnet, and never touches your certified payment flow. Talk to sales and we will map it to your estate.

What does an acquirer see on the churn dashboard?

An acquirer sees a portfolio view with every merchant placed in one of four daily-refreshed risk levels: Healthy, Watchlist, At Risk and Critical. The levels are built from four signal families: volume trends, transaction recency, payment acceptance health and terminal activity. When a merchant turns Critical, the alert names the driver, so a retention call starts with a reason rather than a guess.

The point is timing. Most providers learn about churn from a cancellation notice or a switch request, when the decision is already made. A daily risk view moves that conversation weeks earlier, while the merchant can still be kept. Zeal already runs across roughly 5,000 merchants, live with Elavon, Worldpay, NMI and Lloyds Cardnet.

How does an ISO watch its whole estate in one view?

The Zeal ISO portal shows live transactions from every terminal in the estate in a single feed, whichever acquirer sits behind each merchant. Each row carries the merchant, the amount and the outcome, so a run of declines at one site stands out within minutes rather than at month end when the residual report lands.

Estate visibility also changes conversations with acquirers. An ISO that can show live activity, terminal uptime and churn risk across its book negotiates from evidence rather than memory. Zeal is live with Elavon, Worldpay, Lloyds Cardnet and the NMI gateway, so one portal covers a mixed estate.

What do payfacs get for sub-merchant onboarding?

A payfac gets a proposition that includes loyalty, customer identification, branded terminal screens and a merchant dashboard from the first transaction, provisioned remotely to terminals already in the field. A sub-merchant comparing platforms sees working tools on day one, not a payments account with promises attached.

Because Zeal runs as software on existing terminals, fleet status sits on one screen: which sub-merchants are live, which are still provisioning, and how many terminals each one runs. The payment itself is untouched: Zeal identifies the customer when the card is presented, before the transaction, and payment processes exactly as today.

What is a value-added services layer for payment terminals?

A value-added services layer is software that runs on a payment provider's existing terminals and adds commerce services around the payment: loyalty, customer identification, branded screens, digital receipts, campaigns, estate visibility, churn prediction and a white-label merchant dashboard. Zeal is that layer. The acquirer, ISO or payfac keeps the processing relationship, the merchant gets the tools, and the terminal does more than take payment. It deploys remotely, needs no new hardware and leaves the certified payment flow unchanged.

Where Zeal does not help

Zeal does not process payments and does not replace acquiring, settlement or scheme relationships; those stay exactly where they are. It cannot rescue a merchant leaving purely on price: churn prediction buys your team time to act and services add reasons to stay, but the commercial offer is yours to fix. And because Zeal is software for payment terminals, it needs your terminals to run on: providers without an Android or Linux estate in the field have nowhere to deploy it.

Payment provider FAQs

How is Zeal priced for payment providers?

Zeal is sold to the provider, not to merchants, under one of two commercial models. The first is revenue share: Zeal goes to market inside your merchant proposition and the value-added services revenue it creates is shared between us. The second is an annual licence: a fixed yearly fee that activates Zeal across the MIDs you nominate, with predictable costs from day one. Commercials are agreed per partnership, based on estate size and the services switched on; talk to partnerships for a model built on your numbers.

How much integration work does Zeal need from a provider?

Very little, because Zeal does not touch the payment. Zeal identifies the customer when the card is presented, before the transaction; payment processes exactly as today; no recertification, no second authorisation, no added scheme fees. Redemption follows card scheme rules with one settled transaction. The software installs remotely on the Android and Linux terminals already in the field.

Who owns the customer data Zeal collects?

Customer identification is consent-based: shoppers opt in to loyalty and receipts, and profiles are created from that consent. Merchants use the data to serve their own customers, and the provider gets estate-level insight: activity, risk levels and service adoption across the portfolio. Zeal has created 95k+ customer profiles this way, and it does not sell the data on.

How quickly can a provider go live with Zeal?

Because Zeal is software for terminals a provider already operates, going live is a remote rollout rather than a hardware programme. There are no engineer visits, no terminal swaps and no recertification. Pilots typically start with a defined merchant segment, prove the numbers, then scale across the estate; the pace is set by your rollout plan, not by logistics.

Zeal is live with Elavon, Worldpay, NMI and Lloyds Cardnet, and runs across roughly 5,000 merchants. If you operate an estate and want a services layer on it, the next step is a conversation about your terminals, your merchants and your numbers.
