Connect Adobe Experience Platform to what happens at the card machine
Adobe Real-Time CDP and Journey Optimizer are the enterprise stack for brands running Adobe across web, app and email. The gap is the shop floor: an in-store card payment usually never reaches Adobe Experience Platform, so the profile only knows the online half of the customer. Zeal closes that gap from the payment terminal itself, recognising the customer when they pay and passing the visit to Adobe Experience Platform as an Adobe Real-Time CDP profile and an experience event. Integrations are activated on request with your Adobe Experience Platform team.
The World's #1 VAS Solution on Payment Terminals

Why Adobe Experience Platform cannot see the shop floor
Point-of-sale data reaches Adobe Experience Platform late, aggregated or not at all. Receipts are not linked to a person, loyalty apps are used by a minority, and the till usually cannot identify who is paying. The result is an Adobe Experience Platform profile that treats a weekly regular as an anonymous visitor.

Recognition inside the payment
Zeal runs as software on the Android payment terminal the merchant already has. When a customer pays, the terminal recognises the card token, enrols a new customer in a couple of taps, and records the visit. Nothing is asked of staff and nothing is added to the queue.
How the Adobe Experience Platform integration works
Each recognised in-store transaction is delivered to Adobe Experience Platform through the Experience Platform streaming ingestion API. Zeal sends the customer identifier, store, timestamp, basket value and any loyalty event; consent is captured on the terminal and the identifier is a card-derived token rather than a raw PAN. The first Adobe Experience Platform connection is switched on with your team, and a phone number captured once at the terminal links the token to the existing Adobe Experience Platform record.

The card machine is the only thing every customer touches
Every other route to in-store identity depends on the customer bringing something: a card, an app, a phone with a QR code open. Each of those loses most of the people it is offered to, and it loses them fastest when the shop is busiest.
The payment terminal is different. It is already in the customer's hands, it already has their attention for a few seconds, and using it requires nothing they have not already decided to do.
So Zeal identifies the customer there, and Adobe Experience Platform receives the in-store visit the same way it receives an online order: attached to a person, in near real time.
That turns Adobe Experience Platform segments built on online behaviour into segments built on the whole relationship. A customer who buys online monthly and in store weekly finally looks like the customer they are.
It also means the merchant does not need a loyalty app to get customer data, and does not need staff to remember to ask for anything at the till.
What Adobe Experience Platform can do with in-store events
Trigger a journey after a first in-store visit, suppress a discount email to someone who bought in store yesterday, measure the in-store effect of an online campaign, or build lapsed-customer segments that include the shop floor. All of it inside Adobe Experience Platform, where your team already works.
Because the event comes from the payment, it carries a real transaction value and a real store, so attribution and lifetime-value models finally include the counter.
What you can see afterwards
In Zeal: who is new and who is returning, visit frequency, redemptions and the customer database growing from the terminal. In Adobe Experience Platform: the same customers, enriched with in-store events and available to every campaign tool you already use.
Because a redemption is a real transaction rather than a click, the numbers describe visits and takings, which is the kind of information a marketing team can act on.
How it fits with your payment provider
Zeal runs alongside the certified payment application on supported Android terminals from providers such as Worldpay, Elavon, Barclaycard, Dojo and Adyen. It does not process payments and does not change who acquires for you, how you are priced or how you are settled.
Compatibility depends on the terminal model, its firmware, the payment application on it and the acquirer route. That is the first thing we check, and it is a short conversation rather than a project.
What is an Adobe Experience Platform in-store integration?
An Adobe Experience Platform in-store integration links card-present transactions on the payment terminal to the customer profiles held in Adobe Experience Platform, so in-store purchases, visits and loyalty events are attached to the right person without a customer app or receipt scanning. Zeal provides the terminal-side identification and delivers the events; the Adobe Experience Platform connection is configured on request for each merchant.
What it will not do
It will not identify customers who pay cash, and it will not attach a visit to an Adobe Experience Platform profile until the card token has been linked to that record (by phone number, email or an existing loyalty identifier). It is a data source for Adobe Experience Platform, not a replacement for it.
Adobe Experience Platform integration questions
Is the Adobe Experience Platform integration live today?
Zeal's terminal identification and event delivery are live. The connection into Adobe Experience Platform is activated on request: tell us you run Adobe Experience Platform and we scope the field mapping and consent flow with your team, typically in a few weeks rather than months.
Does the customer need to download an app?
No. Everything happens on the terminal during the payment. There is no app, no plastic card and no code to scan, which is why enrolment holds up instead of tailing off after the first month.
How does Zeal match a card to an Adobe Experience Platform profile?
The terminal recognises a card-derived token. The first time a customer joins, they can enter a phone number or email on the terminal, which is used to match or create an Adobe Real-Time CDP profile and an experience event. After that, every card payment is attached automatically.
Is this compliant with GDPR and PCI?
Consent is captured on the terminal before any profile is created, the identifier passed on is a token rather than card data, and Zeal never touches the payment transaction itself. Our DPA and PSP authorisation terms cover the data flows.
If you run Adobe Experience Platform and want the shop floor inside it, tell us your terminal provider and which Adobe Experience Platform products you use, and we will map the integration and what it needs from your side.

Choose your integration path
Connect host-to-host through our APIs or embed the on-terminal SDK. You get a sandbox, an integration guide and a reference implementation from day one.
Share your estate details
Send your merchant data file with TIDs, MIDs and terminal models. We prepare signed builds for each terminal type, with release notes and a rollback plan.
Pilot, then roll out
We prove the experience on a pilot cohort with hands-on support, then deploy remotely across your estate through your TMS. No hardware changes, no engineer visits.
Go live and activate
Your merchants get onboarding flows, training material and ready-made campaign templates for their first 90 days, and you track activation and usage by cohort.
