Zeal vs Piggy, now Leat: loyalty platforms compared

Piggy, now trading as Leat, is a loyalty and promotions platform for hospitality, retail and ecommerce, with points, stamps, tiers, gift cards and vouchers. Members collect through a branded app, a tablet, a wallet pass or a POS integration. Zeal runs on the payment terminal, recognising customers from the card they pay with on supported card machines.

How customers collect: Leat vs Zeal

Leat offers several routes: a branded app, a tablet at the counter, an Apple or Google Wallet pass scanned at the till, a QR card, or a POS integration that lets customers collect by paying with their bank card. Zeal has one route, built into the card machine: the customer pays by card, is recognised, and joins or earns on the terminal screen, with no app, pass or till integration needed.

Recognise your regulars, then reward them

Zeal identifies the customer from the card, enrols new ones in a couple of taps on the terminal screen, and awards points, stamps or vouchers during the payment. Your customer database grows with every card payment, with nothing for the customer or your staff to remember.

Choosing between Zeal and Leat

Leat may suit you if you want one programme across your webshop and stores, with gift cards, wallet passes and email marketing. Zeal suits you if you want loyalty and customer insight delivered through the card machine you already have, via your payment provider.

FAQ

Zeal vs Leat

Frequently asked questions

Is Piggy now called Leat?

Yes. Piggy's UK company was renamed Leat in September 2024 and the platform now trades as Leat, although piggy.eu is still live. Leat describes itself as a loyalty and promotions platform with 15,000+ clients across 70+ countries.

How do customers collect points with Leat?

According to Leat, members collect through the business's branded app, a tablet or a POS integration, and can use an Apple or Google Wallet pass or a QR card. Through a POS integration, Leat says customers can collect points automatically by paying with their bank card.

Does Leat need an app?

No. Leat's branded app is optional, and customers can use a wallet pass or a card instead. Zeal does not use an app or a pass: customers join on the card machine screen when they pay.

How is Zeal different from Leat?

Leat is a full loyalty platform that connects to tills, webshops and apps. Zeal runs on the payment terminal itself and is distributed through payment providers, so a merchant can add loyalty and customer insight without a till integration, on a supported card machine.
